Calle is a 3-section kiln: a floor, a midsection with elements, controller, and thermocouple, and a lid. Each section in separate and they just stack up. I can take the floor to the bench, assemble my glass work, then stack the midsection, lid and fire. Calle is on a small steel cart stored out of the way until needed. It is rolled out and plugged into any convenient outlet. My main use of calle is for test samples; compatibility tests when working with mongrel glass, powder mix color tests, and whatever weird ideas come to mind. Calle was my first kiln and she is the hidden gem in my studio.
