Bertha is an oval-shaped top-load kiln with both side and top elements. She’s deeper than our other kiln, Shelly. Bertha has room for about a 9″ drop. So, she’s good for small drop-vessels or deeper slumps. We don’t recommend stacking shelves while fusing, but can do one or two small elevated pieces if the arrangement is done right. Keep in mind, she has lid elements, so whatever is elevated will fuse more than pieces on the bottom shelf. She rents for $50.
