The space, El Balneario, is my personal studio and glass lab. I love the idea of opening the doors to other creatives, but keep in mind it is both my baby and provider, so it always needs to be treated with love and care.
Great for research, experimentation and making. I have three different size kilns: A medium custom made front/bell top loader with a GB1 controller; a medium Paragon with Sentry 2000 controller, and a tiny whatever brand for jewelry and color sampling. I also have a glass table saw, a mini lap grinder, and an electric hand grinder. They are all here to use, but bring your own discs, wheels and pads. The space is large and flexible, with the ability to clear an area for visitors if we overlap in time. We are in a building with other artist studios, a tattoo parlor and some clothing manufacturers, within a friendly community. The studio is very well located, close to everything and a few blocks from public transportation. And is in Mexico City: great food, amazing cultural life and museums, and just a lot of things to see and do.
