Monterey GlassWorks (MGW) is a production glass art studio located in Monterey, California. Our facility uses glass blowing, casting and kiln forming to create custom lighting and decor for commercial and residential properties, and for our own designer brand (Innate). All MGW employees are working artists in their own right.
We make our studio available to resident, member and visiting artists to use when not engaged in production work.This means we are not a full time public studio, instead offer our kilns and workspace on a first come, first serve basis when they are open. So, please don’t expect all the organization of a public studio like Bullseye. But we want the glass arts to flourish in our area and are happy to make our facilities available when we can.

Studio Rental
1. Kilns – two main kilns we make available at the moment, a GL24 and a larger coffin kiln (66″x44″). We also have a Vitrigraph setup.
2. Cold Shop – We have a full cold shop with vertical belt sander, horizontal disk grinder, covington double axis mill, drill press, tile saw, hand/rotary grinding tools, ring saw and barrel grinder.
3. Sandblaster (and resist/cricut set up).
4. CNC & 3d printers for mold printing/making. (we don’t rent these but to partner with artists for collabs on a case by case basis).

Lastly, we have a full hot glass studio. We do rent this to qualified working artists and partner on designer-artist collabs. For Kiln artists, that means we can support rollups, hot sand casting, or other collaborations between hot and warm glass artists. But please contact us ahead of your rental to help you arrange.
